Posture in Labor: An Ethnological Study


A survey of worldwide positions of labor used by women of many cultures is followed by examples and descriptions of specific positions used by the Sioux (sitting, with body bent forward), Pawnee and Tonkawa (squatting), Blackfoot (kneeling, grasping a pole), and women from other tribes.
