The Division of Indian Health social worker represents to the Indian patient and his family a connecting link between the Division of Indian Health and the established social and health agencies in the home community. One of the primary objectives of the PHS achieved through the Division of Indian Health is to assist Indian beneficiaries in the transition from special federal health services to private, community and state health resources.
