Bacteremia in febrile Navajo infants with otitis media and pneumonia: a prospective study.

This article discusses the incidence of bacteremia in a study of febrile Navajo infants in the Tuba City Indian Hospital. The study suggests that blood cultures should be given consideration as part of the initial evaluation in infants with fever and pneumonia and/or otitis media and in febrile infants without a focal source of fever.
