Bare sclera, scleral cautery and corticosteroid therapy of endemic pterygium in the Navajo Indian.

Description: 

Of the 2,929 adult Navajos screened, 770 had some degree of pterygium formation. Sixty-four of these patients were operated upon. The surgical procedures used were either the bare-sclera or closed-conjunctival techniques with or without scleral cautery.
