Epidemiology of trachoma in the San Xavier.

After four years of annual door-to-door examinations and epidemiologic analysis, there has been a significant reduction in adult but not in childhood trachoma. May of the epidemiologic factors studied have not appeared to be contributory to the transmission or cure of trachoma on the San Xavier Reservation. On the other hand, the possibility of a relationship between apathy toward the disease and a negative effect on its elimination has been raised.
