Injury mortality atlas of Indian Health Services Areas, 1979-87.

Description: 

This atlas provides injury mortality information for 1979-1987 for those American Indians and Alaskan Natives who reside in the 12 regional service areas of the Indian Health Service (IHS). Eight major causes of injury-related death are included: firearm-related, homicides, suicides, motor vehicle-related, fall-related, fire and burn-related, drownings, and unintentional poisoning. Information on pedestrian-related death is also included. Composite maps showing mortality rates for each causes of injury allow comparisons among IHS Areas and with national rates. Graphics show trends in mortality rates and other detailed information for each major injury cause.
