Nutritional status of British Columbia Indians.

Description:

Increasing exposure of Indians to non-Indian cultural patterns has resulted in a gradual shift from traditional diets to a dependence on purchased manufactured foods. This is complicated by the fact that a high rate of population growth has resulted in a young population, who are considered to be nutritionally at risk. Presented here are the results of nutritional status studies that were carried out at Ahousat, a Nootka Indian fishing community, and at Anaham, a Chilcotin Indian hunting community.
