Three Eskimo Brains from Smith's Sound

Description:

Three Eskimo brains were examined, measured, and weighed. The brain of a woman who died of tuberculosis is extensively described and sketched. The woman's husband's brain is next described and sketched. The 3rd specimen is that of a young girl, about 12 years old. It is also described and sketched. The popular notion that the typical Eskimo skull exhibits a low order of intelligence and is characterized by a small brain capacity is refuted. Sketches.
