Aboriginal Remains On Manhattan Island

Description:

Burial sites of Negro slaves and dogs were found at 211th Street. Shell pockets, undoubtedly of Indian origin, were also found there. It is difficult to know if the slaves were used by Indians or others. The dog bones were probably part of a religious ceremony.
