Description: 

A man is laid out in his best clothes and has his face painted by a member of his own gens. An old man then talks to the corpse and directs it in how to reach the hereafter. Burial is in graves not more than 3-4 feet deep. The mourning period is from one to six months, being terminated by a successful war party.
