A Montauk Cemetery At Easthampton, Long Island.

Description: 

Thirty-nine skeletons were unearthed, 37 of whom were adults and 2 of whom were children. Twenty-one were flexed and 17 were interred in an extended position. It was impossible to determine the burial position of one due to the disintegrated conditions of the bones. Some had been wrapped in blankets or textiles. Skeletons #7-10, 13-15, 19, 21, 25-33, 35, 39 are described. Artifacts that had been buried and the remnants of textile are described, including a small medicine bag of homespun cloth. Photos.
