Human Skeletal Remains From The Highlands Of Peru

Description:

Approximately 200 skulls, some of which were fragments only, were removed from a cave, along with mummified bones. Mummies were originally interred in a sitting posture. Wrapping consists mainly of coils of coarse grass rope sewn together by means of smaller grass rope. Sharply flexed knees protrude from the wrappings. Of the skulls, only 118 were sufficiently complete to be measured as a whole or in the major part. Excerpts only. Table of Contents.
