Description:

Chesley comments on the need for public health measures among the tribes as evidenced by the prevalence of contagious and infectious diseases. Among the Chippewas in Minnesota, the health situation regarding trachoma has not improved much in spite of BIA efforts. He recommends that Chippewa nurses be employed to undertake public health work. Read before the Conf of State and Provincial Health Authorities in Lansing, Michigan on June 17, 1924.
