Eskimo Burial Customs

Description: 

Eskimos were buried in earthen tombs made by slashing off the top of a knoll, laying a platform of planks on the flattened eminence, and then placing the dead, wrapped in caribou or musk ox skins, on the platform. The covering was then replaced on the mound.
