A Health Survey Of Seminole Indians

Description:

Florida Seminoles and Seminoles from Indian Territory - Oklahoma are described and compared. Mortality among the Oklahoma Seminoles is lower than among the Florida Seminoles who have a higher rate of ailments such as malaria than do their Oklahoma counterparts. The opposite is true with regard to TB: Florida Seminoles have a lower rate than Oklahoma Seminoles, possibly because the climate and terrain in Florida - the Everglades, for example - play a role in protecting the Floridians from white encroachment and diseases.
