Diseases Among The Indians

Three most important diseases among the San Carlos Apache Apache and Navajo in the southwest are: tuberculosis, trachoma, syphilis. On the San Carlos Apache Reservation, in 1931 there were 13 deaths attributed to tuberculosis; during 1932 there were 17. Diarrhea and pneumonia are the chief causes of death among infants.
