Study Of Syphilis In Northern Alberta

In September 1946, 145 patients with positive serologies were brought together. On 2nd testing, all but 6 were found to still be positive. Treatment schedules were instituted with penicillin, two injections per week of oxophenarsine chydrochloride and bismuth subsalicylate. Followup has been extremely difficult. In the four years since treatment, only 99 of the original 145 patients has been successfully followed. Read at the 70th ann'l meeting of the Am Dermatological Assn Inc. in Alberta on 6/20/50.
