The incidence of diphyllobothriasis is high, a direct result of the dietary habits and the economic status of many Alaska natives. The initiation of an extensive educational program whereby the natives are taught the hygienic value of thoroughly cooking fish would contribute greatly to the control and possibly the eventual elimination of this disease from man in Alaska.
