A bacteriological and parasitological survey of enteric infections in the Alaskan Eskimo area. The diarrheal problem is due primarily two to types of shigella. A history of diarrhea was given by 33.7% of those interviewed, with the greatest reported prevalence occurring during July and August. Of the human parasitic infections, Entamoeba coli and Diphyllobothrium sp. were most numerous. Tables. Bibliography.
