Medical Problems In The Arctic.

Description: 

Permafrost has a great influence on sanitation and therefore on certain diseases, but its importance varies with the terrain. Also of considerable importance are the social habits of the people and their level of sophistication. Trouble arises when people stop being nomads and settle in one of the small Arctic communities, bringing with them the risk of intestinal disease as well as typhoid and the eye diseases.
