Dental Caries Incidence In North And South Dakota Indian School Children During 30 Years.

Description:

From 1959-62, a total of 6988 examinations of Sioux children was conducted in 8 North and South Dakota Indian reservation boarding schools. These exams were conducted as part of a controlled clinical trial of the effectiveness of dietary supplementation with dicalcium phosphate on dental caries incidence. The prevalence of dental caries was found to be greater than twice that reported 30 years previously for children of the same age levels and ethnic background and living in the same communities.
